It is advisable to make your travel bookings 6-8 months ahead of time, particularly if you plan to travel between October and April (high tourist season) or May and December (the New Year holiday season). Upon arrival at the International Airport of Egypt, please wait for our representative at the arrival hall. It is important to note that you should not leave the airport without our representative if you are scheduled to be picked up. However, it’s important to be cautious of people who may be too eager to help you or are insistent on selling you something.

We recommend that our guests consume bottled water and bottled drinks. Coffee and tea should be consumed hot. If you are traveling without a guide in Egypt, you may ask the waiter not to include any chilies in your ordered dish. We suggest that you stick to only cooked foods, and if you wish to eat fresh fruits, please remove their skin before consuming.

In Egypt, tipping is a common practice, and it is expected that bus drivers and tour guides receive tips at restaurants. However, the amount of the tip is up to you, and it depends on how satisfied you are with the services you received.

To give you an idea, here is a rough guide to tipping:

– For a group day tour, the bus driver should receive LE 150, and the guide should receive LE 200.

For a private day tour, the bus driver should receive LE 100, and the guide should receive LE 150.

It is customary to tip LE 5 per bag for baggage handling.

Remember to give these tips directly to the driver and guide after the services are provided.

If you are taking a Nile Cruise, the recommended tip is around $3 to $5 per person per night. For instance, if you are two people and have a four-night cruise, the total tip amount would be $32 (4 x 4 x 2). You can leave the tip at the end of your cruise trip.

Most foreign currencies, cash, or traveler’s cheques can be easily exchanged in Egypt. There are numerous exchange bureaus in major cities, but they primarily deal with cash. Visa and MasterCard are suitable for cash advances and along with American Express, JCB cards, and Euro cards can be used in several shops and hotels. If you are visiting lesser tourist areas while exploring Egypt, the best currencies to carry are US dollars, Pounds Sterling, and Egyptian Pounds. Banking hours are usually from Sunday to Thursday, 8:30 am to 2:00 pm.

All major currencies and credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, and Amex) are accepted in Egypt.

To confirm your tour, we require 50% of the total tour cost at the time of booking. This is to ensure that your booking is genuine and that we can proceed with the necessary reservations. The remaining payment must be made in cash upon arrival.

When planning a trip to Egypt, the timing of your visit should depend on your preferred destinations. If you’re heading south of Cairo, including Luxor and Aswan, it’s best to avoid visiting during the summer months (June-August), as the heat can be quite uncomfortable. The best time to visit these areas is during the winter months (December-February). On the other hand, the Mediterranean coast is most crowded during the summer, so if you’re planning to visit this area, it’s best to plan your trip from March to May or September to November. During these months, the days are warm, and you can avoid the midday heat of high summer and the crowds on the beaches. Finally, it’s worth noting that winter in Cairo can get fairly cool, so you may want to pack accordingly if you plan to visit during this time.

To ensure smooth travel, please make sure that your passport is valid for at least six months after your planned departure from the country. It is recommended not to bring a passport that is almost full or nearly expired. In general official advice is that all nationalities obtain their Egypt visas in advance, as we cannot guarantee that you can get them at the airport. Or you can get An online e-visa. Please do not use any other website as many scam sites are offering Egypt e-visas.

In practice, however, many nationalities (including British and European, Australian, New Zealand, USA, and Canadian) can and do obtain their visas on arrival at Cairo airport. The process is much quicker and simpler, the cost is currently US$25 p/p and must be paid in hard currency (i.e. GBP, USD, or EUR) – you’ll be given a change in local currency if necessary.

There is no requirement to fill out any forms or bring passport photos. You can obtain visas at one of the bank counters located in the immigration hall before reaching passport control. At this point, our representative will have already met you and will assist in the process.
