Luxury Egypt tours are the same itinerary as the classic packages, taken more slowly and with the details paid for. Every luxury tour uses 5★ hotels named on your voucher, luxury Nile cruises with balcony suites, and domestic flights in place of the sleeper train.

What luxury actually buys in Egypt

What changes is not what you see; it is the cabin, the hotel, and how many people you share the sun deck with. Karnak is still Karnak whether you sleep at the Winter Palace or the Sofitel Karnak — but a suite at the Old Cataract in Aswan with a Nile-facing balcony is a genuinely different holiday from the room next door.

Hotels named on your voucher

Every hotel is inspected in person by our team and named before you commit. If a suite category is not what we promised on arrival, we move you at our cost — not "similar standard."

Which Nile cruise for luxury

Sonesta St George or Movenpick Royal Lily for 5★ boat with a resident Egyptologist. Oberoi Zahra or Sanctuary Sun Boat IV if you want the highest end. Alfa Nile Cruise if you want a small boat feel with hotel-standard rooms.

Private guides and vehicles throughout

Your own Egyptologist and driver for the whole trip, not just the touring days. Airport transfers, hotel arrivals, restaurant collections — all included in the price.

“Our guide Hoda knew every corner of the Valley of the Kings and got us in before the coaches arrived. Fourteen days and not one wasted morning.”

“Our flight to Aswan was cancelled the night before. The team rebooked us, moved the hotel and messaged at 1am to confirm. We didn't lose a single site.”

“The boat is comfortable rather than glamorous — be clear on that. But the guiding was the best of the three trips I have taken to Egypt.”

Travel tips for Egypt

The things guests ask us on the phone, answered properly. Written by the team who meet you at the airport.

When to travel

October to April for the archaeology. May to September for the Red Sea, at roughly two-thirds of the price.

November – FebruaryPeak season. Luxor sits at 23–25°C, ideal for tombs and temples. Busiest and priciest — book about three months ahead.
March – April, October – NovemberOur own favourite. 29–35°C, noticeably thinner crowds, and prices below the December peak.
May – September41°C in Upper Egypt by lunchtime. Excellent for Hurghada and Sharm, hard work in the Valley of the Kings unless you finish by eleven.
Nights get cold8°C in Luxor in January is normal, and cruise sun decks are chilly after dinner. Bring a jacket — nobody expects to need one.
What we'd book. Late October or early November for a first trip — warm enough for the coast, cool enough for the tombs, six weeks clear of the Christmas crowds.
Questions

Frequently asked questions

The route is the same; the difference is how you travel it. Luxury tours use named 5-star hotels listed on your voucher, luxury Nile cruises with balcony suites, and domestic flights in place of the sleeper train. Karnak is still Karnak either way, but you see it after a better night's sleep and share the sun deck with fewer people.

Yes. On a luxury tour the specific 5-star hotels are named on your voucher rather than described only by category, so there are no surprises at check-in. This matters because hotel quality varies widely within the same star rating in Egypt. You approve the named properties as part of the written itinerary before you commit.

They do. Luxury packages use 5-star Nile cruisers with balcony suites and a quieter sun deck, rather than the standard boats. The temples visited are identical to any cruise, so what you are paying for is the cabin, the dining and the smaller number of fellow guests. Full board and all shore excursions are included.

Yes, that is much of the point. Luxury tours run the classic itinerary more slowly, with the details paid for, so you have longer at each site and more downtime between them. Because every tour is private, we tune the daily pace to you rather than a coach schedule. Tell us your priorities and we will build the days around them.

Prices are per person in USD and cover your licensed Egyptologist, named 5-star hotels, a luxury Nile cruise, domestic flights, entry tickets and private transport. The per-person rate falls as your group grows. Book via our enquiry form or WhatsApp for a fast reply, with a written itinerary before you commit and free cancellation more than 30 days before departure.
