Hurghada is where Egypt turns into the Red Sea — a working diving town with a coral reef ten minutes offshore and a road inland to Luxor. Every Hurghada day tour below is private, from reef snorkelling to the 4am run into the Valley of the Kings.

Why book Hurghada excursions with Min Travel

The reef days are the reason most guests come to Hurghada, and the difference between our operator and the beach vendors is which boat you get and how many people are on it. We use small dive boats (12–18 guests, not 60), with a lunch on board and unlimited stops rather than a fixed three.

Giftun Islands versus Ras Mohammed

Giftun is closer (40 minutes each way), quieter and the reef is genuinely good. Ras Mohammed is 90 minutes each way but the water is clearer and the marine life better. If it's your only dive day, take Ras Mohammed. If you have two, do both.

The Luxor day tour from Hurghada

4am start, four and a half hours each way through the desert. Karnak, the Valley of the Kings and the Colossi of Memnon in a single day, back at your hotel by 9pm. Long but doable, and considerably cheaper than repositioning to Luxor for two nights.

Desert safaris

The 4x4 half-days from Hurghada into the eastern desert — a Bedouin camp, quad bikes and dinner under the stars. Best avoided if you dislike touristy set-pieces; enjoyable if you take it for what it is.

“Eight hours sounds long until you do it. Our guide read the room and gave us more time at the museum and less at the Valley Temple, which was exactly right.”

“Picked up from our hotel at 8 on the dot. Lunch was a proper local place, not a tourist canteen. No pressure to buy anything, anywhere, all day.”

“Ask for the extended version — the itinerary is generous but the sites deserve a bit longer. Everything else was flawless.”

Travel tips for Egypt

The things guests ask us on the phone, answered properly. Written by the team who meet you at the airport.

When to visit Hurghada

Hurghada is a Red Sea town, so the weather rules are different from Upper Egypt.

March – May, September – NovemberPerfect. 25–32°C, warm water, comfortable dives, thinner crowds.
June – AugustPeak season for Egyptians. 34–38°C, very warm water, family-friendly, occasionally windy.
December – FebruaryCooler days (20–25°C) but the water is still 22°C — divers need wetsuits.
Windy daysThe reef trips cancel if the wind is above force 5. Rare but happens once or twice each winter.
Questions

Frequently asked questions

Yes. Hurghada has a road inland to Luxor, and our private day trip makes an early start (around 4am) to reach the Valley of the Kings and Karnak with time to see them properly before the drive back. It is a long day, but it lets Red Sea guests add Egypt's greatest ancient sites without relocating. The entry tickets and a licensed Egyptologist are included.

The reef sits about ten minutes offshore, and reef days are the main reason most guests come to Hurghada. The real difference is the boat and how many people are on it: we use small dive boats rather than crowded party vessels, so you spend more time in the water and less time queuing for it. All equipment and transfers are arranged as part of the private trip.

We use small boats with a limited number of guests rather than the large crowded vessels the beach vendors fill, which means better sites, quieter water and more attention from the crew. This is the single biggest factor in whether a reef day is memorable or forgettable. Tell us your group size and we will match you to the right boat.

Every Hurghada day tour is private, with air-conditioned transport and hotel pick-up from the resorts along the coast. Whether it is a reef snorkelling trip or the inland run to Luxor, you are not sharing the itinerary with strangers. Prices are per person in USD and fall as the group grows.

Book through our enquiry form or on WhatsApp for a fast reply, and we will confirm the boat or itinerary and send a written plan before you commit. Sightseeing day tours can be cancelled free of charge more than 30 days before departure. Prices are per person in USD, dropping as your group size rises.
