Private Tour to Karnak and Luxor Temples Itinerary

Tour to Karnak and Luxor Temples

Start your guide for the day pick you up and transfer you and start your tour with a visit to the Temple of Karnak. It is a city of temples built over 2000 years and dedicated to the Theban triad of Amon, Mut, and Khonsu. For the largely uneducated ancient Egyptian population, this could only have been the place of the gods. It is the mother of all religious buildings, the largest ever made, and a place of pilgrimage for nearly 4,000 years.

Continue to visit the Temple of Luxor, which is close to the Nile and parallel to the riverbank. King Amenhotep III who reigned 1390-53 BC built this beautiful temple and dedicated it to Amon-Re, king of the gods, his consort Mut, and their son Khonsu. At the end of the day tour back to your hotel or Nile Cruise.

The best time to travel Egypt

Deciding when to come to Egypt depends a lot on where you want to go. Everywhere south of Cairo is uncomfortably hot in the summer months (June-August), especially Luxor and Aswan, so winter (December-February) is the best time to visit these areas. Summer is also the time when the Mediterranean coast is at its most crowded, but winter in Cairo can get pretty cool. March to May or September to November is the best time to enjoy the warm days without the crush of bodies on the beaches and the midday heat of high summer.

What is a private tour package?

Our Private Tour Package means you will have your own private local tour guide, private vehicle, and private driver for your group. You don’t have to share the vehicle with others. Your tour guide will take care of only your group. With the help of your private tour guide.

If you are traveling with your family or a group of friends, a private tour for your group is ideal. As you have more people in the group, the price won’t be much higher than a join-in group tour. It is a good way to save money and enjoy ultimate service.

Can I get a visa on arrival in Egypt?

Passports should be valid for at least six months after you depart from the country. Please do not bring an almost full or almost expired passport. Visa arrangements are the responsibility of the traveler, and requirements are subject to change by the local authorities.

We recommend that you contact your closest Egyptian consulate or embassy for current information about your nationality.

In general official advice is that all nationalities obtain their Egypt visas in advance, as we cannot guarantee that you can get them at the airport. Or you can get An online e-visa. Please do not use any other website as many scam sites are offering Egypt e-visas.

In practice, however, many nationalities (including British and European, Australian, New Zealand, USA, and Canadian) can and do obtain their visas on arrival at Cairo airport. The process is much quicker and simpler, the cost is currently US$25 p/p and must be paid in hard currency (i.e. GBP, USD, or EUR) – you’ll be given a change in local currency if necessary.

There are no forms to fill in and you don’t need to bring passport photos. Visas are issued at one of the bank desks in the immigration hall before you get to passport control. Our representative will have met you by this stage and will assist with the process.

All African & Indian nationals, and some others, will need to obtain their visas in advance.
