How many months in advance should be my travel booking?

We recommend that your travel bookings should be made 06- 08 months in advance, especially if you are traveling between October – April (high tourist season) and May – December, the New Year holiday season. We highly recommend booking your tour in advance. However, in the case of late/last-minute bookings, we should be able to accommodate them depending on hotel availability.

No, we don’t sell both international and domestic ticketing.

How will I be picked up from the Airport?

You will be picked up by our representative at the arrival hall of the particular International Airport of Egypt. If you are part of a group, the name of the group will be mentioned on the welcome board.

How can I come in contact with local people during our travel in Egypt?

Egyptians are hospitable and friendly people. Most of the people you talk to you will find friendly. Always speak to the people you feel like talking to. Avoid people who are too eager to help you or want you to buy you something.

What is advisable to eat and drink in Egypt?

We advise our guests to drink bottled water and bottled drinks. Coffee Tea should be taken hot. If you are traveling without a guide in Egypt you may ask the waiter not to put any chilies in the ordered dish. It is suggested to stick to only cooked foods and to eat fresh fruits after removing their skin.

How much should I give as tipping while travelling in Egypt?

Tipping is a way of life in Egypt and bus drivers and tour guides expect it at restaurants. Having said this, you still retain the right to the tip and it is highly dependent on your satisfaction with the services received.
Here is a rough guide to tipping:
A bus driver for a group day tour: LE 150,-
Guide for a group day tour: LE 200,-
The bus driver for a private day tour: LE 100,-
Guide for a private day tour: LE 150,-
Baggage handling: LE 05, – per bag per trip
These tips will be given to the driver, and guide after the services.
Nile Cruise: The Tip is about 3 to 5 US$ Per Person per Night.
For Example, if you are 2 Persons and have a 4 Nights Cruise your Tip Amount will be 4 US$ x 4 Nights x 2 Persons = 32 US$.
So you Leave 32 US$ at the End of your Cruise Trip.

Which currency is used in Egypt?

Most foreign currencies, cash, or traveler’s cheque can easily be changed in Egypt. There are many exchange bureaus in the larger cities but they mainly only deal in cash. Visa and MasterCard are suitable for cash advances and American Express JCB cards and Euro cards can be used in a wide range of shops and hotels. If you travel to lesser tourist areas while touring Egypt, the best currencies are US dollars, Pounds Sterling, and Egyptian Pounds.
Banking is usually open Sunday to Thursday: 0830 to 1400 hours.

Can I pay in Euro, US $ or through credit cards in Egypt?

All the major currencies including Euro and US $ are accepted in Egypt. Also, all the major credit cards (Visa, Masters, and American Express) are accepted in Egypt.

How do we settle the payment? Is there an advance deposit required?

We need 50% of the total tour cost at the time of the confirmation of the tour. This is to be sure that you’re booking a genuine one and we can go ahead with the reservations. The rest of the Payment must be upon arrival on a Cash Basis.

The best time to travel Egypt

Deciding when to come to Egypt depends a lot on where you want to go. Everywhere south of Cairo is uncomfortably hot in the summer months (June-August), especially Luxor and Aswan, so winter (December-February) is the best time to visit these areas. Summer also the time when the Mediterranean coast is at its most crowded, but winter in Cairo can get pretty cool. March to May or September to November is the best time to enjoy the warm days without the crush of bodies on the beaches and the midday heat of high summer.

Can I get a visa on arrival in Egypt?

Passports should be valid for at least six months after you depart from the country. Please do not bring an almost full or almost expired passport. Visa arrangements are the responsibility of the traveler, and requirements are subject to change by the local authorities.

We recommend that you contact your closest Egyptian consulate or embassy for current information about your nationality.

In general official advice is that all nationalities obtain their Egypt visas in advance, as we cannot guarantee that you can get them at the airport. Or you can get An online e-visa. Please do not use any other website as many scam sites are offering Egypt e-visas.

In practice, however, many nationalities (including British and European, Australian, New Zealand, USA, and Canadian) can and do obtain their visas on arrival at Cairo airport. The process is much quicker and simpler, the cost is currently US$25 p/p and must be paid in hard currency (i.e. GBP, USD, or EUR) – you’ll be given a change in local currency if necessary.

There are no forms to fill in and you don’t need to bring passport photos. Visas are issued at one of the bank desks in the immigration hall before you get to passport control. Our representative will have met you by this stage and will assist with the process.

All African & Indian nationals, and some others, will need to obtain their visas in advance.
